Engine — installation (Opel Omega A)

            0

The engine is installed in the reverse order of removal, as given in Chapter 6, but in addition, do the following:
  • a) Lightly lubricate the transmission input shaft or torque converter bushing.
  • b) On models with automatic transmission, check that the torque converter is fully occupied by the transmission oil pump as described in Section 6 Chapter 14.
  • c) Fill the engine with the specified quantity and grade of oil.
  • d) On models with manual transmission, adjust the clutch cable as described in Section 5.
  • e) Adjust the tension of the power steering pump, alternator/fan and air conditioning compressor drive belts as described in Sections 10, 2 and 11 respectively.
  • f) Adjust the gas pedal cable and, where necessary, the automatic transmission kickdown cable and the mid-speed control cable as described in Sections 3, 6 and 13.
  • g) Fill the cooling system as described in Section 2.
