Clutch cable — removal and installation (Opel Omega A)

1. Apply the handbrake. Jack up the front of the car and secure it on axle stands.

2. Using a steel ruler, measure the distance from the lock nut to the end of the cable thread (photo).



3. Unscrew and remove the lock nut and adjustment nut (photo).



4. Remove the end of the cable from the release lever, remove the inner and outer cables from the hole in the clutch housing (photo).



5. From inside the car, behind the panel, disconnect the inner cable from the curved top of the clutch pedal.



6. Where necessary, unscrew the clamp from the steering gear.

7. Remove the clutch cable from the bulkhead and remove it from the engine compartment (photo).



8. Installation is carried out in the reverse order, making sure that the cable is correctly positioned in the clutch pedal, bulkhead and clutch housing. Initially adjust the cable to the position noted in point 2, but finally check the pedal adjustment as described in Chapter 2.
