1. With the gearbox removed, to provide access to the clutch, you can check the release bearing located in the clutch housing (photo).
2. Remove the rubber o-ring from the clutch cover, remove it from the end of the release lever. Note the direction of the arrow, it should point forward (photo).
3. Slightly spread the release lever out of the hole in the clutch housing until the seat and spring are out of the ball head pin (photo), then pull the bearing and lever off the guide bushing inside the clutch housing.
4. Separate the bearing from the rollers on the release lever (photo). If necessary, remove the circlip and counterweight (photo).
5. Clean the release lever, release bearing and guide bush. Note however, if the release bearing is to be reused, do not allow solvent to come into contact with it.
6. Apply high temperature grease to the ball head pin contact surfaces, seat, guide bushing, and bearing race.
7. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. After installation, the release lever must be firmly seated on the ball head pin. If necessary, press the fork spring against the release lever to provide additional pressure (photo).
