Working in the engine compartment, measure the length of the threaded rod protruding from the plastic block at the end of the clutch cable lever (pic. 6.1).
Remove the clip from the threaded rod at the clutch release lever, then remove the rod itself. Slide the clutch release lever forward towards the engine and, if necessary, loosen the cable adjuster to wrap around the removal.
Pull the cable assembly off the clutch bell housing bracket.
Working inside the vehicle, release the clips and remove the lower trim panel from the driver's footwell.
Release the return spring from the clutch pedal and disconnect the end of the cable from the pedal. Note that the end of the return spring holds the end of the cable to the pedal. Access is restricted, it is best to remove the clutch pedal as noted in the section below before disconnecting the cable.
The cable assembly can now be pulled into the engine compartment by pulling it through the bulkhead. Be careful not to damage the spacer ring in the baffle.
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following.
Install the threaded rod so that the length of the protruding threaded part of the plastic block is the same as before removal, then adjust the length of the cable as indicated in chapter 1.
Check that the spacer ring is correctly installed in the baffle.
