Technical characteristics of the lubrication system (Opel Kadett E)

            0

Contents: Oil pump ⬇ Oil filter ⬇ Motor oil ⬇
The engine has a combined lubrication system. The pressure in the system is created by a gear oil pump of internal engagement with a pressure-reducing valve, the drive of which is carried out from the gear at the end of the crankshaft. The lubrication system of the "20XE" engine includes an oil radiator with a thermostatic-type temperature controller.

Oil pump

Clearance between oil pump gear teeth, mm: 0.10-0.20.

Clearance between the ends of the gears and the plane of the pump body, mm:
  • engines "13N", "13S", "14NV", "16SV", "C16NZ": 0,08-0,15;
  • other engines: 0.03-0.10.

Oil pressure at idle speed of a warm engine (oil temperature 80°C), not less than, kg/cm²: 1.5.

Oil filter

Oil filter — full-flow, with replaceable filter element. The filter is connected in series to the main oil line of the engine directly after the oil pump.

Brand and type of oil filter:
  • engines "13N", "13S": AC Delco Type SD, Thread 3/4*;
  • other engines: AC Delco type X93, thread 18x1.5 mm.

Source is on this resource OpelBook.ru

*Before September 1985. From that time onwards, the same oil filter is used as on other engines.

Motor oil

Lubrication system capacity (including 0.25 l in the oil filter):
  • engines "13N", "13S", "16S", "18E": 2.75;
  • engine "14NV": 3.0;
  • engines "16SV", "C16NZ": 3,5;
  • engines "16S", "18E", "18SE": 3.25;
  • engines "20NE", "C20NE", "20SEH": 4,0;
  • engine "20SEH": 4.5.

Oil used: All-season motor oil SAE 20W20; SAE 20W40; SAE 20W50; SAE 15W40; SAE 15W50; SAE 10W40; SAE 10W50; API SF or SE; CCMS G2 or G3.

Oil change frequency: every 15,000 km with simultaneous replacement of the oil filter.

The difference in the amount of oil between the marks on the dipstick is 0.75 l for engines "13N", "13S" and 1 l for other engines.
