Signals from the sensors of the system are sent to the controller (microprocessor control unit), which determines the duration of the opening of the injection nozzle and controls the operation of the idle speed controller, and also provides software control of the ignition timing. Controller
The controller is installed on the right A-pillar under the instrument panel. It controls the operation of the fuel pump relay, injection nozzle, idle speed controller and performs self-diagnosis.
Injection nozzle
The electromagnetic injection nozzle is installed in the housing above the throttle valve.
Winding resistance, Ohm:
- on a cold engine: about 1.4-1.8;
- on a hot engine 5 minutes after it has stopped: about 0.2 ohm more than the resistance value on a cold engine.
Fuel pressure control
The fuel pressure regulator is mounted on the throttle body and serves to maintain the pressure at a predetermined level.
Fuel pressure at the inlet, kg/cm2: 0,7-0,8.
Throttle position sensor
A potentiometric type throttle position sensor is mounted on the throttle axis. The signal from the sensor is used to determine the mode of operation of the engine (idle, part load or full power).
Potentiometer resistance when measured between terminals, kOhm:
- «A» And «IN» (constant resistance): 4-9;
- «IN» And «WITH» (with closed throttle): 1-3;
- «IN» And «WITH» (at wide open throttle): 5-10.
Voltage when measured between terminals «A» And «IN», V: 4.7-5.1.
Idle speed controller
The idle speed controller is made in the form of a stepper motor. actuating the damper, which changes the flow area of the air channel, made parallel to the throttle. At the controller's commands, the regulator maintains the engine idle speed within the specified limits, regardless of the load.
Motor winding resistance when measured between terminals, Ohm:
- «A» And «IN»: 50-65;
- «WITH» And «ABOUT»: 50-65.
Vacuum sensor
The sensor is located in the engine compartment on the bulkhead and is connected by a hose to the intake manifold at a point located after the throttle valve. The sensor provides control over the engine load.

- 0,2: 3,5-3,9;
- 0,6: 1,3-1,7;
- 0,8: 0,3-0,7.
Coolant temperature sensor
The coolant temperature sensor is a resistor with a negative temperature coefficient, i.e. its resistance decreases with increasing temperature.
Sensor resistance at coolant temperature, kOhm:
- -18°C: >15;
- -7°C: 7.3;
- -4°C: 6.5.
- 20°C: 2.95.
- 38°C: 1.45;
- 70°С: 0.5;
- 100°C: 0,325.
Exhaust oxygen sensor
Sensor («Lambda probe») installed in the exhaust pipe and gives the controller signals of the oxygen content in the exhaust gases.
Vehicle speed sensor
The sensor is an inductive type, located at the output of the speedometer drive cable from the gearbox and outputs a vehicle speed signal to the controller.
