Removing
Remove toothed belt see point 1.3.
Loosen the fixing screws of the crankshaft pulley.
Attention: To do this, put the car on the handbrake and shift into gear.
Unscrew the cooling pump.
Remove the pulley with a screwdriver.
Punch the crankshaft oil seal with a suitable tool.
Screw in the screw and remove the seal.
Installation
Install a smooth protective sleeve on the crankshaft. The bushing is necessary in order not to damage the stuffing box lips during installation (you can use sticky tape).
Lubricate the sealing lips on the new oil seal and install together with the oil pump housing on the protective sleeve.
Insert the stuffing box all the way into the body using a special tool KM-417 (engine 1.3-l) and KM-513 (1.6-/1.8-l engines), or a pipe of the appropriate diameter.
Install the gear wheel on the key and crankshaft, see point 1.4.
Fasten the cooling pump with 8 Nm.
Insert and tighten toothed belt see point 1.3.
Install the crankshaft pulley and tighten to 55 Nm.
Attention: When tightening, shift into gear and engage the handbrake.
Install the toothed belt guard.
OHV engine
Removing
Remove the camshaft drive cover see item 1.12.
Knock out the stuffing box with the holder from the cover from the inside to the outside.
Attention: When doing this, place the lid with the closed side on a suitable tubular substrate and evenly knock it out with a punch, setting it at an angle to the stuffing box.
Attention: Place a new oil seal in the engine oil for 24 hours before installation.
Installation
If required, pre-align the gland holder.
Install a new oil seal from outside to inside using a suitable tool.
To install the stuffing box, place the cover on the tubular support and press the stuffing box flush with the housing cover with a press.
When installing, dimension 9 - 0.25 mm must be maintained, see below.
The lugs on the cover and gland holder must be displaced at the same time.
Install the camshaft cover, see item 1.12.
Check oil level.
