Installation
Diesel engines and ONS engines
But the mating surfaces front and back (see arrows) apply sealant OPEL 1503294.
Coat the cork gasket with sealant for better adhesion and press it against the surface to be sealed.
On 1.2-/1.3-l engines, install the protective cover.
Install the oil pan and insert the bolts with a protective agent, eg OPEL 1510177, and tighten them to 10 Nm. Not harder or the gasket will flatten, Fig. below.
Install cover.
Install the exhaust pipe with a new gasket.
OHV engine
Apply a bead of sealant (about 3 mm thick), OPEL No. 1503294, on the rear edge of the rear cover of the crankshaft and cylinder block, also between the sides of the front cover and the cylinder block and on the sealing surface itself.
Apply cork gaskets to the sealing surfaces of the cylinder block and covers.
Then apply sealant to the rear flanges and between the front cover flanges.
Install the oil pan and insert the screws with a protective agent, eg OPEL 1510177, and tighten them to 5 Nm. Not harder, otherwise the gasket will flatten out.
Lower the car, fill in the engine oil.
Check oil level.
Carry out a test drive and check the tightness of the oil pan.
