Checking oil pressure (Opel Kadett D)

Warm up the engine to oil temperature +60°C, coolant +80°C.



For 1.2/1.3L engines, the oil pressure sensor is located on the right, in front, in the direction of travel. For 1.6/1.8L engines, it is on the right, at the rear.



Remove the electrical wiring from the sensor (arrow).

Unscrew the sensor.

Screw in a pressure gauge instead.

Start the engine.

At idle speed, with the engine warmed up, the oil pressure should not fall below 150 kPa (1.5 bar), otherwise check the lubrication system (pump, bearings, etc).

Unscrew the pressure gauge, screw in the sensor with a new copper sealing ring, connect the electrical wiring.
