Attention! When working with the system «Common Rail» wait for one minute after turning off the engine. The system releases pressure automatically.
Attention! Keep the fuel line clean as even very small particles of dirt can cause engine or system malfunctions. Seal open fuel system fittings with suitable plugs. Reuse of plugs is not allowed.
Removing
Open the hood.
Disconnect the battery.
Disconnect the ground connector from the ground terminal.
Remove the engine cover
Remove the intake pipe.
Disconnect 3 wire harnesses.
Disconnect the engine vent hose.
Disconnect the quick coupler.
Disconnect from turbocharger air intake hose.
Loosen clamp.
Disconnect from the air intake hose, mass air flow sensor.
Loosen the clamp and unscrew the 2 mounting bolts.
Place a drain container underneath.
Disconnect the high pressure line from the high pressure pump to the pressure chamber. Loosen 2 union nuts.
Installation
Install the high pressure pipe from the high pressure pump to the pressure chamber.
Use new high pressure piping.
Tighten the M14 union nut to 19 Nm.
Tighten the M12 union nut to 24 Nm.
Install the intake pipe.
Attach to turbocharger air intake hose.
Tighten the clamp to 3.5 Nm.
Attach the mass air flow sensor to the air intake hose.
Tighten the clamp to 3.5 Nm.
Connect the engine vent hose.
Fasten with a clamp.
Tighten the 2 mounting bolts.
Attach 3 wire harnesses.
Install the engine cover.
Connect the battery.
Connect the ground connector to the ground terminal.
Tighten the fastening nut.
Program the volatile memory.
Close the hood.
