Adjusting the parking brake system (Opel Corsa C)

For vehicles with drum brakes: Adjust the drum brakes.

Remove the diagnostic connection cover.

Remove the parking brake lever from the center console and lift it up.

Loosen the adjusting nut completely.

Set the parking brake lever to position "0" (off).

Press the brake pedal fully at least 5 times.

Note: To adjust the parking brake stroke in the brake caliper or brake drum, make sure that each time the parking brake is applied, the brake pedal returns to its original position (completely unloaded). In cars with drum brakes, the operation of the adjusting lever cannot be heard.

Raise the parking brake lever 5 times to the stop and lower it again.

Raise the parking brake lever 2 clicks.

Turn the adjusting nut on the parking brake lever until you feel a noticeable resistance to the rotation of the rear wheels.

Note: The braking force must be equal on both wheels.


Raise the parking brake lever 3 clicks.

Note: The wheels should lock at 3 clicks.


Secure the parking brake lever corrugated housings to the center console.

Attach the diagnostic connection cover.
