Warning: Ashtrays should only be used to collect ashes, do not place flammable items in them!
The ashtray and cigarette lighter for the driver and front passenger are built into the front part of the center console (see illustrations 15.1). The ashtray is covered with a decorative cover. Fold the cover back by overcoming the resistance point - the ashtray will be accessible. The ashtray is closed by lightly pressing on the decorative cover and lowering it to its original position.
When the lid is opened, the ashtray tray is slightly lifted from the seat. The tray is removed for cleaning by pulling it upwards (see illustration 17.26). Next to the ashtray, a cigarette lighter is mounted in the center console (see illustration 15.1). The cigarette lighter can be activated with the ignition on, for which simply press the cigarette lighter button into the receiving socket until it stops - after the heating element has finished heating up, the button will automatically pop out to its original position.

Caution: Never press the cigarette lighter button with force!
If the cigarette lighter button does not pop out after pressing for a long time, the car should be driven to a service station to eliminate the malfunction. After use, do not forget to return the button to the socket (to avoid clogging the latter). The cigarette lighter socket can be used to connect additional power consumers designed for 12 V and a power consumption of no more than 120 W.
If equipped, the ashtray for rear passengers is built into the rear of the center console. Note: On some models, a storage compartment is installed instead of the rear ashtray. To use the ashtray, you must fold back its decorative cover. To empty the ashtray, grasp the open cover (see illustration 17.27), remove the ashtray from the socket.
