Switch for interior control and vehicle tilt function of anti-theft alarm

If equipped, the switch is mounted in the ceiling panel before the front seat lights are assembled. For more information, see Section 8 of this Chapter.

Interior lighting operating modes

The interior lighting is provided by activating lamps built into the ceiling panels of the interior (see illustrations 17.11, 17.12).

The front light is activated when one of the side doors of the vehicle is opened and goes out after a short delay after the door is closed/ignition is turned on. If the corresponding equipment is installed, the individual front seat light must be activated for constant illumination (see below). Rear light (with appropriate equipment) can be equipped with a 3-position switch (see below). In the middle position of the switch, the lighting is activated automatically when any of the side doors of the car is opened and goes out with a short delay after the door is closed.

Switches for individual directional lights in front seats

If equipped accordingly, the individual directional lights for the front seats are built into the front interior light assembly (see above). The lights are activated when the ignition is on by pressing the button on the corresponding switch (see illustration 17.11) and provide individual illumination of the driver's and front passenger's seats. Pressing the button again deactivates the corresponding light.

Rear seat light switch

When equipped, rear reading light (see illustration 17.12) are activated when the ignition is on by pressing the right edge of the switch. To completely deactivate the lamp, you must press the left edge of the switch.

Note: The 3-position switch can be designed as a slider.

Battery discharge protection

On models with the corresponding configuration, some power consumers (for example, interior lighting), left on when the ignition is switched off, will be automatically deactivated after approximately 30 minutes, regardless of the position of the switches.

Caution: Do not leave the lights on for a long time with the engine off!

Luggage compartment lighting

This lighting is provided to provide convenience when using the luggage compartment in poor lighting conditions.

The interior lighting of the luggage compartment is activated when the tailgate is opened.
