The rear drum brake serves as a parking brake. Since the rear brake shoes adjust automatically, the parking brake should only be adjusted after it has been disassembled.
Corsa and Tigra models
1. Jack up the rear of the vehicle and place it on jack stands.
2. Release the parking brake.
3. Pull on the cables and check if they move freely. If necessary, replace the cables with new ones.
4. Engage the parking brake lever 3 clicks.
5. Tighten the self-locking nut (arrow) on the parking brake cable compensator on the rear suspension so that both rear wheels can only be rotated by hand with difficulty in the direction of travel of the vehicle.

6. Release the parking brake.
7. After adjustment, the following check is recommended. Remove the rear plug from the brake shield and shine a lamp into the hole.

8. The cam of the brake drum lever of both brakes must rest against the wall with the parking brake lever released.
9. Install the plug and lower the vehicle to the ground.
10. Drive the vehicle and test the parking brake.
11. Engage the parking brake lever 8 clicks. The rear wheels must be blocked and the vehicle must not move.
Combo model
1. Jack up the rear of the vehicle and place it on jack stands.
2. Disconnect the exhaust system in the area where the parking brake cables are routed.
3. Remove the heat shield from the bottom.
4. Release the parking brake.
5. Pull on the cables and check if they move freely. If necessary, replace the cables with new ones.
6. Engage the parking brake lever 2 clicks.
7. Tighten the self-locking nut (arrow) on the parking brake compensator on the rear suspension so that both rear wheels can only be rotated with difficulty by hand in the direction of travel of the vehicle.

8. Release the parking brake.
9. Carry out the parking brake cable adjustment test described for the Corsa and Tigra models.
