Removal and installation the window regulator (Opel Corsa B)

The installation of manual and electric window lift is the same. Electric window lift has electronic control, i.e. when you briefly press the switch (less than 0.4 s) the glass can move in intervals. As a result of pressing the switch for a longer time (longer than 0.4 s) the glass moves automatically until it is fully opened or closed. If the glass above the middle of the window encounters any obstacle, it immediately stops and opens a little. Electric window motors are equipped with an overload switch in case the glass gets jammed, for example, due to icing.

Removal

1. Remove the door trim.

2. Remove the protective film. Make sure that the film does not tear. Seal or replace torn film.

3. Install the glass at the level of the upper mounting hole and secure it with two plastic wedges.

4. Disconnect the connector in the door.

5. On models Corsa and Combo unscrew the guide mounting bolts (4), having previously marked their position. Remove the lift sliders (3) from the glass guide (2).

6. On the model Tigra unscrew the window lift guide mounting rivets, having previously marked their position. Remove the window lift sliders from the glass guide.

7. Drill out the rivets (1) (refer to illustration) - shows window lifters with manual glass fastening drive with a drill diameter 8.5 mm and knock them out backwards with a punch.

Be careful not to damage the outer door leaf.

8. Remove the window regulator from the door.

Installation

1. Before installing a new window lifter, check its operation. To do this, install the drive handle or connect the electric motor and turn on the window lifter.

2. Lubricate the window regulator sliders with grease and insert them into the guide.

3. Rivet the lift to the door using 4.8x11mm steel rivets.

4. Alternatively, you can secure the window regulator with bolts and nuts. Lubricate the nuts with a fixing sealant.

5. Connect the electrical wiring.

6. Remove the plastic wedges.

7. Adjust the window lifter electronics. To do this, close all doors and turn on the ignition. Close the windows using the switch. Hold the switches in the window closing position for at least 2 seconds.

8. Check the operation of the manual window lift. The glass should rise and fall easily.

9. Apply the protective film and install the door trim.
