Removal and installation the window regulator (Opel Kadett D)

Removal

Remove the inner door trim, see paragraph 18.5.



Remove the water-repellent protective film from the openings in the door.

Front door window lift

Raise the glass halfway and clamp it in the door frame with a suitable wooden wedge.



Unscrew the window regulator from the door (arrow).

Note: Since January 1983 the window regulator has been firmly secured with rivets, see item 18.12.

Pull the window regulator out of the guides.



Remove the window regulator from the mounting hole.

Rear door window lifter

Unscrew the window lifter at point -A- and use the guide rollers to pull it out of the lower guide.

Installation

Lubricate all sliding parts of the window lifter with a thin layer of Moly paste.



Monitor the functions of the window lifter. Roller -1- in the installation guide -A-, roller -2- in the glass guide.



Install the window regulator through the mounting hole and screw it to the door trim.



Adjust the angle of the glass on the installation guide so that the top edge of the glass is parallel to the top edge of the glass frame.

Rear door window lifter

Install the guide rollers into the lower glass guide and screw in the window regulator.

Carefully apply water-repellent film to the holes in the door.

Install the interior door trim, see paragraph 18.5.
