Removal and installation the front door window regulator (Opel Vectra C)

1. Lower the glass of the corresponding door by approximately 5 cm and secure it in this position using tape.

2. Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery (see Chapter 5) and remove the door trim (see Section 19).

3. Separate the insulating film from the door frame as much as necessary to clear access to the relevant parts.

4. Remove and take out the speaker from the door frame (see Chapter 12).

5. Using a plastic wedge, separate the lower outer window opening trim along its entire length from the door frame and remove it.

6. Drill out the heads of two rivets (see accompanying illustration), knock them out. Pull back to separate the rear door glass guide from the top guide and remove it from the door assembly through the bottom frame opening. Remove metal shavings from all door assembly components.



7. Remove the electric motor cover (see accompanying illustration), use a screwdriver to loosen the electrical wiring connector and disconnect it.





8. Loosen the mounting screw on the lower guide and drill out the 6 window regulator rivets (see illustration 26.7).

9. Disconnect the window regulator from the door frame (see accompanying illustration, arrow B).



10. Release the regulator levers from the grooves of the guide bar (see illustration 26.9, D) and remove the window regulator through the lower opening of the door frame.

11. Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. Lubricate the regulator levers with universal grease. Use 4.8x11 mm rivets to secure the window regulator, or replace them with suitable short bolts and nuts; the bolt threads must be lubricated with a fixing compound. Replace damaged insulating film if necessary.

12. After connecting the battery, it is necessary to synchronize the automatic window lift system. Check the operation of the window lift.
