Removal and installation the HVAC fan drive motor (Opel Astra H)

1. Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery (see Chapter 5).

2. Remove the main storage compartment and the trim panel underneath it, then remove the air supply hose to the passenger footwell (see Chapter 11).

3. Disconnect the fan wiring connector (see accompanying illustration).



4. Remove the resistive assembly, unscrew the 5 mounting bolts, open the clamp and remove the fan motor.

5. Installation is carried out in reverse order.

Features for Zafira

Note: Unlike the Astra models, on these models the fan motor is not bolted to the air distributor housing.

6. Remove the electrical tape and release the fan motor wiring from the cable harness (see accompanying illustration) and disconnect the 2 electrical wiring connectors.



7. Remove the resistive assembly (see illustration 13.6), press the lock, turn the fan motor in the direction of the arrow and remove it.

Note: If the motor retainer is damaged during removal, use the motor retainer bolts to secure the motor in place.
