General information
Carburetor Pierburg 2ЕЗ - two-chamber, is a complex device with various subsystems designed to improve engine control, increase efficiency and reduce emissions of harmful substances into the atmosphere.
An unusual feature of the Pierburg carburetor is that the fuel level in the float chamber is set at the factory and cannot be adjusted.
Removing
Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
Disconnect the intake to the air cleaner, then the vacuum tube and breather hose from the air box. Remove the three screws and remove the air box.
Disconnect the fuel hose from the carburetor or disconnect the fuel inlet and return hoses from the vapor trap if required. Fuel leakage is possible, so take fire safety measures. Clamp the hose to prevent leakage and dirt from entering it.
Remove the clamp from the throttle cable mounted on the carburetor bracket, then the spacer and disconnect the end of the cable from the throttle lever.
Disconnect the coolant hoses from the auto choke body, making note of their installation location. Fuel leakage is possible, therefore it is necessary to pinch the hoses or secure them with the ends up.
Disconnect the two vacuum tubes from the front of the carburetor, remembering their location and for ease of installation.
Disconnect the air damper heater wiring plug.
Remove the three nuts and remove the carburetor from the intake manifold studs.
Remove the gaskets and insulating plates between the carburetor and manifold.
Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, however, new gaskets must be installed.
After installation, check and adjust as follows.
Check the free play of the throttle cable and adjust it if necessary as above.
Check and, if necessary, add refrigerant to the correct level.
Check and, if necessary, adjust the idle speed and mixture quality.
