Removal and installation the automatic transmission selector lever base cover (Opel Vectra C)

1. Remove the tray and the front ashtray mounting housing (see Section 35).

2. Using a plastic wedge, remove the decorative frame of the selector lever niche from the center console (see illustration 34.4).

3. Set the selector lever to position "D", turn the lever sleeve clockwise (arrow A) and press it down with a screwdriver (see accompanying illustration).



4. Press the lock (arrow B) with a screwdriver (see illustration 36.3) and remove the selector lever handle.

5. Remove the bushing from the selector lever, release the wiring harness from the guide and carefully disconnect the plug connector.

6. Remove the selector lever base cover from the center console.

7. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.

Note: The selector lever handle is put on with the lock button pressed.
