Maintenance work
The headlight will not adjust itself. But if the reflector or even the entire headlight has been replaced, then you need to check the headlight beam setting. In some cases, even replacing the bulb can knock the headlight adjustment off. Of course, adjustment is also required if the front of the car was hit in an accident or after installing new shock absorbers. Installation in our Vectra with adjustable beam range is done in the "O" switch position:
If one of the headlights has been damaged or replaced, it is enough to park the car at some distance in front of a light wall, turn on the light and then compare the height of the light beam of the installed headlight with the beam of the unchanged headlight.
If the headlights have been adjusted with a device in the workshop, you can mark the height of the light points, for example, on the wall of the garage. Of course, the distance at which the Vectra stands from the wall is important. Also mark. With these marks, you can, if necessary, check the adjustment of the headlights yourself.
The most accurate method of adjusting headlights, as before, is to adjust them using an adjustment device, which are available at petrol stations, Bosch service centres and workshops.
The high beam is adjusted automatically if the low beam is set correctly.
Adjusting the fog light beam:
At a distance of 5 m from the installation wall, the widely scattered beams should be 100 mm below the center of each headlight.
Where are the adjustment bolts located?
With the bonnet open, the side and height adjustment bolts for the main headlights are accessible from above.
To turn the bolts you need a hex key.
Perform the height adjustment first, then the side adjustment. Then check the height adjustment again.
Factory installed fog lights are height adjustable only.
The adjustment bolt, located in the middle behind the fog light, can be turned by hand.
