Rear lid/trunk lid (Opel Vectra B)

Dismantling



Stepped rear section: Disconnect the plug connection of the cable harness at the left hinge.

Mark the installation position of the trunk lid. To do this, trace the bolt heads with a felt-tip pen.

With the help of an assistant, unscrew the trunk lid from the hinges.

Install the new cover according to the marks.

The height is adjusted using rubber buffers in the trunk lid. If necessary, unscrew or screw the buffers.

Sloping back: Unscrew the inner trim pieces of the back cover.

On vehicles with central locking, disconnect the wire connectors on the servomotor.

Disconnect the wire connectors at the wiper motor and to the heated rear window.

Using a screwdriver, remove the retaining clips (2) from the pins (1) on both rear cover hinges and push the pins towards the middle of the vehicle.


Remove the hose from the windshield washer nozzle.



Remove the wire harnesses from the rear cover.

With the help of an assistant, press the safety clips and press the gas-filled shock absorbers out of the fasteners in the cover.

Remove the safety rings from the hinge pins.

Press both hinge pins toward the middle of the car and, with the help of an assistant, remove the rear cover.

The rubber buffers are used to adjust the rear cover. Screw or unscrew the buffers accordingly.

Removal the rear lid/trunk lid lock



Open the rear lid or trunk lid.

Remove the interior trim. Remove the control rod. To do this, remove the lock from the clamps at the ends of the rod.

Loosen the Torx head bolts and remove the lock from the rear lid or trunk lid.

When installing, attach the control rod and insert the clamps.

Removal the rear lid/trunk lid lock drum



Open the rear lid or trunk lid.

Remove the interior trim.

Release and pull the control rod.

Unscrew the fastening nuts and remove the lock drum.

Insert the key into the lock to prevent the locking plates and springs from falling out when the lock drum is removed.

Press the safety ring on the rear end of the lock drum. Make sure that the safety ring does not get lost when pressing.

Lubricate the new lock drum with anti-corrosion sealant spray and install the lock.
