Steering gear — removal and installation (Opel Vectra B)

Removal

1. Set the front wheels to move straight ahead.

2. Remove the front lower frame.

3. Unscrew the mounting bolt to the lower frame.



4. Mark the position of the steering gear mounting clamps (arrow), unscrew the bolts and remove the clamps.

5. Remove the steering gear from the lower frame.

6. Remove the rubber cushions from the steering gear, noting their location.

10. Lower bolts securing the clutch housing to the cylinder block.

Installation

1. Install rubber pads on the steering gear.

2. Install the steering gear mounting clamps and secure them with bolts.

3. Install the rear powertrain support and bolt it to the lower frame.

4. Install the front lower frame.

5. Check and, if necessary, adjust the front wheel alignment angles.
