Removing
1. A gauze of a small tubular filter is installed in the top cap of the carburetor.
2. To clean the fuel and prevent clogging or other problems due to limited fuel supply, this filter must be cleaned and/or replaced at the intervals specified in Specifications in Section 1.
3. To access the filter, remove the air filter or air block, depending on model, then disconnect and plug the hose from the fuel priming pump or vapor separator to the top cover coupler.
4. Remove the filter with a small screwdriver or by screwing in a long thin screw (screw with a 3 mm thread approx. 5 mm into the filter).
5. If the filter is heavily soiled, or if it is torn, distorted or damaged, replace it. If the filter is fit for further use, blow it out with compressed air. Then rinse in pure solvent; if gasoline is used, follow fire safety precautions.
Installation
6. When installing the filter, push it into the coupler until it locks into place (see illustration). Further installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
