Removing
1. Open the hood.
2. Place an oil pan under the engine.
3. Remove the oil filter cap (1).
4. Remove the oil filter cap seal (2).
5. Remove and properly dispose of the oil filter insert (3).
Attention. These engines use a special high performance oil filter. Using any other type of filter may result in engine damage.
6. Raise and secure the car.
7. Remove the drain bolt.
8. Drain the engine oil into the fluid collection pan.
Installation
1. Clean the threads on the plug and oil pan drain hole.
2. Install a new seal on the drain plug.
3. Install the drain plug in the pan and tighten to 14 Nm.
4. Lower the car.
5. Install new oil filter insert (3).
6. Install a new oil filter cover seal (2).
Note. Apply fresh engine oil to the O-ring.
7. Install the oil filter cover (1) and tighten to 25 Nm.
Attention. Overtightening the oil filter cap can damage it and result in oil leaks.
3. Fill the engine with engine oil of the specified type to the required level.
Attention. Using an engine oil of the wrong viscosity can cause engine problems.
Note.
- Start the engine and let it run until the oil pressure indicator on the instrument panel goes out.
- Check engine oil level.
9. Close the hood.
10. Reset the service interval indicator.
