Removing
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Turn the steering wheel so that you have access to the two front screws securing the steering column cover, which are covered with plastic covers. Remove the cover using the lever and unscrew the screws.
3. Turn off three screws of fastening from a reverse side of the lower casing of a steering column, then remove the top and lower casings.
4. To remove the lock, insert the ignition key and turn it to the "II".
5. Insert a thin rod into the hole in the lock case, then press the rod to release the latch spring and pull out the lock using the key.
6. The ignition switch is attached to the steering column lock housing with two screws. Disconnect the wire contact and unscrew the screws to remove the switch (see illustration). Removing the steering wheel will make removal easier. See Section 10 or Chapter 57, depending on the model.
Installation
7. Installation is carried out in the reverse order.
