The key in the ignition lock can occupy the following positions:
0 - the following consumers of electricity are connected: external and internal lighting, headlights, audio system, sound signal. When the key is removed, the steering shaft is blocked (to lock it, you need to turn the steering wheel a little to the right or left until the locking rod engages).
Comment. Turning the key to this position and removing it on vehicles with automatic transmission is possible only with the selector in position P (see below).
To unlock the steering shaft, insert the key into the ignition lock and, slightly turning the steering wheel left and right, move the key to position I.
Warning! When the car is moving, do not turn off the engine and do not remove the key from the ignition, this will cause the steering wheel to lock and lose control of the car!
I - the same consumers are connected as in position 0, as well as the electric drive of windows and mirrors.
II - the ignition is on and the electrical circuits of all consumers, except for the starter.
Recommendation. Before starting the engine (by turning the key to position III) pause for a few seconds (especially after a long stop). This will allow the electric fuel pump to create the necessary pressure in the fuel rail and make it easier to start the engine.
III - designed to start the engine (starter included). After starting the engine, release the key, it will automatically return to position II.
Warning! Before turning the key to position III, make sure the engine is off. Engaging the starter while the engine is running can cause damage!
