Comment. All gauges and control lamps of the instrument panel (except for control lamps for turning off high beam headlights and alarms) only work when the ignition is on (position II ignition key). The car can be fitted with a white instrument cluster.
On some cars of the first years of production, a dashboard without a tachometer and with a different arrangement of control lamps was also installed.
- a control lamp of malfunction of the automatic device of adjustment of a tilt angle of headlights (on vehicles with xenon headlights) *. Lights up for a few seconds when the ignition is turned on. If the lamp comes on while driving, it indicates a malfunction that should be corrected. Contact a specialized service center.
- tachometer. Shows the current engine speed. The red zone of the scale indicates the engine operating mode with an unacceptably high crankshaft speed. Do not exceed the maximum permitted engine speed (6500 min-1).
- control lamp for turning on the fog lights *.
- control lamp for turning on the left turn signal.
- control lamp for switching on the high beam headlights.
- control lamp for turning on the right turn signal.
- control lamp for turning on the rear fog lights.
- speedometer.
- control lamp for switching on the emergency operation of the gearbox (for vehicles with automatic transmission up to 2000). Illuminates when a fault occurs in the automatic transmission. In this mode, one of the gears is engaged in the gearbox and there are no shifts, which allows you to carefully get to the service. To find out the cause of the malfunction, it is necessary to diagnose the automatic transmission using special equipment, contact a specialized service center.
- control lamp for switching on the sports mode of the gearbox (for vehicles with automatic transmission). Illuminates when the transmission is in sport mode (see «Automatic transmission mode selector»).
- fuel gauge in the tank.
Comment. Avoid operating the vehicle with the fuel tank less than ¼ full, as this may cause the fuel pump to overheat and shorten its life.
- control lamp for turning on the trailer direction indicators (for vehicles with fitted trailer hitch). When a trailer is towed and the direction indicators are switched on, the lamp flashes at the frequency of the indicator lamps. If one of the turn signal lamps on the vehicle or trailer fails, the flashing stops.
- control lamp of the reserve fuel remaining in the tank. Illuminates when the vehicle's fuel tank is low (remains about 7-8 liters). Starts flashing when the reserve fuel in the tank runs out (remains about 2-3 liters). Need to refuel immediately!
- warning lamp for a malfunction of the anti-lock brake system (ABS) *. When the ignition is turned on, it lights up for a few seconds. If it does not go out after a few seconds or lights up while driving, then there is a malfunction in the system. Travel by car should be very careful, especially in winter. For diagnostics, contact a specialized service center.
- warning lamp for a malfunction of the traction control system *. Lights up for a few seconds when the ignition is turned on. It may flash when driving, which indicates the operation of the system. The constant glow of the lamp indicates a malfunction in the system, for the diagnosis of which special equipment is required, contact a specialized service center.
Comment. The lamp also lights up when the system is turned off.
- button for switching the display modes of the odometer / daily mileage counter / time display on the mileage counter. To switch modes, briefly press the button. To reset the daily mileage counter, with the ignition on, press the button and hold for a few seconds.
- display of the odometer/trip counter/service interval indicator*. If InSP appears on the display after the ignition has been switched on for seven days or after driving 500 km, the next service is required.
- warning lamp for malfunction of engine control systems, automatic transmission *, immobilizer (on vehicles after year 2000). Lights up when the ignition is turned on and goes out after the engine is started. Flashing with the ignition on means a malfunction of the immobilizer system, the engine cannot be started. To diagnose the problem, contact an authorized service center. Lighting up while the engine is running indicates a malfunction in the electrical equipment of the engine or gearbox. In this case, the control system switches to emergency operation, deterioration of the dynamic and operational qualities of the car is possible (see «Engine management system - checking the technical condition and diagnosing faults»).
- emergency oil pressure warning lamp. When the ignition is turned on, it lights up in red and goes out after the engine starts. If the lamp continues to burn after starting the engine, this indicates low pressure in the engine lubrication system. To avoid failure of the engine, it should be turned off and the cause of the malfunction eliminated (see «Lubrication system - checking oil pressure»).
- a control lamp of malfunction of a control system of the engine (on vehicles up to year 2000). Lights up for a few seconds when the ignition is turned on. Lighting up while the engine is running indicates a malfunction in the electrical equipment of the engine. In this case, the control system goes into emergency operation, the deterioration of the dynamic and operational qualities of the car is possible. Flashing with the ignition on means a serious malfunction in the control system, the engine may not start (see «Engine management system - checking the technical condition and diagnosing faults»).
Control lamp of malfunction of system of control of toxicity of the fulfilled gases (on vehicles after year 2000). Lights up when the ignition is turned on and goes out after the engine is started. If the light stays on, there is a problem with the system. If the lamp flashes, there is a serious malfunction in the system that can damage the catalytic converter (see «Engine management system - checking the technical condition and diagnosing faults»).
- battery charge control lamp. Lights up when the ignition is turned on and goes out after the engine is started. If the control lamp continues to burn, this indicates that the battery is not charged (see «Possible car malfunctions and their causes»).
- control lamp of the engine cooling control system (on vehicles with air conditioning) *. Lights up for a few seconds when the ignition is turned on and goes out after starting the engine. If the warning light comes on while the engine is running, this indicates that there is a problem with the engine cooling system or the air conditioning system. Contact a specialized service center.
- control lamp for turning on the parking brake and malfunctioning of the brake system. Illuminates when the ignition is switched on, if the parking brake is applied and/or the brake fluid level is too low (see «Checking the levels of technical fluids»).
- warning lamp for an unfastened seat belt *. Lights up when the ignition is switched on with a warning signal for a few seconds.
- warning lamp for a malfunction of the airbag system and seat belt pretensioners *. Lights up for four seconds after the ignition is turned on. If it does not come on, stays on for more than four seconds, or comes on while driving, there is a problem with the system. In any case, special equipment is required for diagnostics - contact a specialized service center.
- coolant temperature gauge. The red sector of the temperature gauge - engine overheating. Do not operate the engine if the pointer is in the red zone.
Recommendation. Until the engine temperature reaches the pointer to 80°C, avoid increasing the crankshaft speed above 3000-4000 min-1 and do not depress the accelerator pedal more than half of its travel. Warming up the engine to operating temperature in this mode will extend its service life.
