Note: All instruments and control lamps of the instrument panel (except for the high beam indicator lights and the hazard warning lights) work only when the ignition is on (position II of the ignition key). The car may be equipped with a dashboard with white instrument scales.
Some cars of the first years of production were also equipped with a dashboard without a tachometer and with a different arrangement of control lamps.
1 - Automatic headlight range control malfunction indicator lamp (on cars with xenon headlights)*. Lights up for a few seconds when the ignition is turned on. If the lamp lights up while driving, it indicates a malfunction that needs to be fixed. Contact a specialized service center.
2 - tachometer. Shows the current engine crankshaft speed. The red zone of the scale indicates the engine operating mode with an unacceptably high crankshaft speed. It is prohibited to exceed the maximum permitted engine crankshaft speed (6500 min⁻¹).
3 - fog light indicator lamp*.
4 - left turn signal indicator light.
5 - high beam indicator lamp.
6 - right turn signal indicator light.
7 - indicator lamp for rear fog lights.
8 - speedometer.
9 - control lamp for emergency gearbox operation mode (for cars with automatic transmission manufactured before 2000). Lights up when a malfunction of the automatic transmission occurs. In this mode, one of the gears is engaged in the gearbox and no shifting occurs, which allows you to carefully get to the service. To determine the cause of the malfunction, diagnostics of the automatic transmission using special equipment is required; contact a specialized service center.
10 - control lamp for switching on the sports mode of the gearbox (for cars with automatic transmission). Lights up when the transmission is in sport mode (see "Automatic transmission mode selector").
11 - fuel level indicator in the tank.
Note: Avoid operating the vehicle with the fuel tank less than ¼ full, as this may cause the electric fuel pump to overheat and reduce its service life.
12 - Trailer direction indicator indicator light (for vehicles with a towing hitch installed). When towing a trailer and turning on the direction indicators, the lamp flashes at the frequency of the direction indicator lamps. If one of the direction indicator lamps on the car or trailer fails, it stops flashing.
13 - fuel reserve indicator light. Lights up when the fuel supply in the vehicle's tank is running low (there are about 7-8 liters left). Starts flashing when the reserve fuel supply in the tank is running low (there are about 2-3 liters left). It is necessary to refuel immediately!
14 - Anti-lock braking system (ABS) malfunction indicator lamp*. Lights up for a few seconds when the ignition is turned on. If it does not go out after a few seconds or lights up while driving, there is a malfunction in the system. Drive the car very carefully, especially in winter. For diagnostics, contact a specialized service center.
15 - Anti-skid system malfunction indicator lamp*. Lights up for a few seconds when the ignition is turned on. It may flash while driving, which signals that the system is activated. If the lamp is constantly on, it indicates a malfunction in the system, for diagnostics of which special equipment is required; contact a specialized service center.

16 - button for switching the odometer/tripmeter display modes/tripmeter time indication. To switch modes, press the button briefly. To reset the tripmeter, press the button and hold it for a few seconds with the ignition on.
17 - Odometer/tripmeter/service interval indicator display*. If the message InSP appears on the display after the ignition is turned on for seven days or the vehicle has traveled 500 km, the next service is required.
18 - control lamp for malfunction of engine management systems, automatic transmission*, immobilizer (on cars produced after 2000). Lights up when the ignition is turned on and goes out after the engine starts. Flashing when the ignition is on means a malfunction of the immobilizer system, starting the engine is impossible. To diagnose the malfunction, contact an authorized service center. Lighting up while the engine is running indicates a malfunction in the electrical equipment of the engine or gearbox. In this case, the control system goes into emergency mode, deterioration of the dynamic and operational qualities of the car is possible (see "Engine management system - technical condition check and fault diagnostics").
19 - Oil pressure warning light. When the ignition is turned on, it lights up red and goes out after the engine starts. If the light remains on after the engine starts, this indicates low pressure in the engine lubrication system. To avoid engine failure, it should be turned off and the cause of the malfunction eliminated (see "Lubrication system - checking oil pressure").
20 - Engine management system malfunction indicator lamp (on cars manufactured before 2000). Lights up for a few seconds when the ignition is turned on. Lighting up while the engine is running indicates a malfunction in the engine's electrical equipment. In this case, the control system switches to emergency mode, and the vehicle's dynamic and operational qualities may deteriorate. Flashing when the ignition is on means a serious malfunction in the control system; the engine may not start (see "Engine management system - technical condition check and fault diagnostics").
Emission Control System Malfunction Indicator Lamp (on cars produced after 2000). Lights up when the ignition is turned on and goes out after the engine starts. If the light stays on, there is a fault in the system. If the light flashes, there is a serious fault in the system that could damage the catalytic converter (see "Engine management system - technical condition check and fault diagnostics").
21 - Battery charge indicator lamp. Lights up when the ignition is turned on and goes out after the engine starts. If the indicator lamp continues to light, this indicates that the battery is not charged (see "Possible car malfunctions and their causes").
22 - Engine cooling control system indicator lamp (on cars with air conditioning)*. Lights up for a few seconds when the ignition is turned on and goes out after the engine starts. If the control lamp lights up when the engine is running, this indicates that there is a malfunction in the engine cooling system or in the air conditioning system. Contact a specialized service center.
23 - Parking brake and brake system malfunction indicator lamp. Lights up when the ignition is turned on, if the parking brake is applied and/or the brake fluid level is too low (see "Checking the levels of technical fluids").
24 - Seat belt warning light*. Lights up when the ignition is turned on with a warning signal for a few seconds.
25 - Airbag and seat belt pretensioner system malfunction indicator lamp*. Lights up for four seconds after the ignition is turned on. If it does not light up, lights up for more than four seconds, or lights up while driving, there is a malfunction in the system. In any case, special equipment is required for diagnostics - contact a specialized service center.
26 - coolant temperature indicator. Red sector of the temperature indicator - engine overheating. It is prohibited to operate the engine if the indicator needle is in the red zone.
Recommendation. Until the engine temperature reaches 80°C on the gauge, avoid increasing the crankshaft speed above 3000-4000 min⁻¹ and do not press the gas pedal more than halfway. Warming up the engine to operating temperature in this mode will extend its service life.
