Steering column switches (Opel Zafira A)

The steering column paddle shifters are mounted on the steering column.

Positions of the left steering column switch:
  • 0a - direction indicators off;
  • 1a - right turn signal is on;
  • 2a - left turn signal is on;
  • 0b - external lighting operates independently of the steering column switch (short-term non-fixed switching on of high beam possible 26);
  • 1b - switching on high beam headlights when low beam headlights are on;
  • 2b - non-fixed switching on of high beam headlights.

Depending on the configuration, the vehicle may be equipped with a system for automatically maintaining a set speed (cruise control). In this case, additional control buttons are located on the left steering column switch.

Cruise control mode can only be activated at speeds over 30 km/h. Accelerate the car to the desired speed and press the I button, then remove your foot from the gas pedal. The car will maintain the set speed. To decrease or increase the set speed, press the R or I button briefly or repeatedly, respectively, the speed will decrease or increase in steps of 2 km/h. You can also increase the set speed by accelerating the car using the gas pedal and releasing it (no need to press the I button again). To turn off the function, press the O button. Automatic switching off occurs when the vehicle speed drops to 30 km/h, when the brake pedal or clutch pedal is pressed (cars with manual transmission) or moving the selector to position N (cars with automatic transmission).

Position of the right steering column switch:
  • 0a - windscreen wipers and washers are off;
  • 1a - front windshield washer is on (non-fixed position);
  • 2a - rear wiper is on (if installed);
  • Pros - rear windshield washer and wiper are on (if installed, non-fixed position);
  • 0b - windshield wiper and windshield washer are off;
  • 16 — intermittent front wiper mode is on;
  • 26 — first speed of front windshield wiper is on;
  • 3b - the second speed of the front windshield wiper is on.
