Air conditioning control unit (Opel Zafira A)

            0

The air conditioning system only operates when the ignition key is in position II (see "Ignition switch (lock)"). Depending on the configuration, the car may be equipped with a climate control system with air conditioning or a climate control system with automatic maintenance of the set temperature in the cabin (climate control). Depending on this, different control units are used.

Air conditioning control unit (with or without air conditioning, shown using the Astra model as an example):
1 - temperature control knob;
2 - electric fan speed control knob;
3 - air flow distribution mode selection knob;
4 - rear window heating switch;
5 - air conditioner on/off button (if installed);
6 - recirculation mode activation button.

The buttons for turning on the air conditioner, rear window heating and recirculation mode are equipped with indicator lights.

In recirculation mode, air from the outside environment does not enter the passenger compartment. This mode is very useful when driving through very dusty sections of the road or when unpleasant odors come from outside. However, prolonged use of this mode leads to fogging of the windows and deterioration of the air quality in the car due to the lack of fresh air ventilation.
