The vehicle is equipped with a 12 volt electrical system with a negative ground terminal. Electricity for the lamps and electrical equipment is provided by a lead acid battery, which is charged by an alternator
This Section covers repair and maintenance procedures for various electrical components not related to the engine. Information regarding the battery, alternator, and starter can be found in Section 5.
Before working on any component in the electrical system, the negative battery terminal must be disconnected.
Warning: If the radio installed in your vehicle has a security code, please refer to the instructions in this manual before disconnecting the battery.
