Flywheel — removal and installation (Opel Omega B2)

Removal

1. Remove the gearbox and clutch (see the relevant chapter).

2. Lock the flywheel with a 1 KM-652 thrust shoe, unscrew the mounting bolts and remove it from the crankshaft (see illustration).

Installation

3. Install the flywheel onto the crankshaft and secure with new bolts.

4. Tighten the flywheel mounting bolts to 45 Nm, then turn them by 30° and 15°, blocking the flywheel with a thrust shoe to prevent the crankshaft from turning.
