V-ribbed auxiliary drive belt — removal and installation (Opel Omega B2)

Removal



1. Remove the engine mudguard (protection).

2. Mark the direction of rotation of the V-belt by drawing an arrow on it with chalk.

3. Turn the belt tensioner roller counterclockwise using socket head 1 and remove the V-belt (see arrow in illustration).

5. Remove the V-belt.

6. Unscrew bolts 1 and 2 securing the tensioner and remove it (see illustration).

7. Disconnect damper 3 from the tensioner, marking its mounting position (see illustration).

Attention! It is recommended to lay the tensioner damper only vertically.


8. Connect the damper to the tensioner by tightening the mounting bolt to 23 Nm.

9. Install the tensioner on the bracket and secure it with a tightening torque of 42 Nm, and secure the tensioner damper with a bolt using a force of 23 Nm.

10. Lay the V-belt.
