Removing
The oil pump is located in the chain cover, so the oil pump is removed at the same time as the chain cover.
Examination
1. Loosen the screws and remove the pump cover from the inside of the chain cover.
2. Using a marker, mark the relative position of the inner and outer rotor of the oil pump. Remove the inner oil pump rotor.
3. Remove the outer oil pump rotor.
4. Remove the pressure relief valve bolt from the base of the chain cover
5. Remove the spring, bushing (indicated by the arrow in the figure on the left) and pressure relief valve plunger (drawing on the right), remove the O-ring from the bolt.
6. Remove the safety valve bolt from the back of the chain cover.
7. Remove the safety valve spring and tappet.
8. Clean all parts of the oil pump and examine the rotors and valve lifters for wear or wear. Replace worn parts if necessary.
9. Assemble the oil pump in the reverse order of disassembly, taking into account the following points:
- check that the rotors are installed in accordance with the previously applied marks;
- install new sealing rings to the safety valve and safety valve mounting bolts;
- tighten the screws securing the oil pump cover to the required torque;
- Fill the pump with engine oil while turning the inner rotor of the oil pump.
Installation
Install the chain cover to the engine.
