Upper tensioner
Removing
1. Remove the air filter cover.
2. Remove the right engine mount bolt from the cylinder head.
3. Unscrew the tensioner head from the back of the cylinder head.
4. Remove the tensioner plunger.
Warning! Do not rotate the engine crankshaft when removing the tensioner.
5. Inspect the tensioner plunger for wear or damage and replace if necessary.
Installation
1. Lubricate the tensioner plunger with clean engine oil and insert it into the cylinder head.
2. Install a new O-ring to the tensioner head (indicated by an arrow).
3. Press the head of the tensioner plunger until it clicks to properly adjust the tensioner. Screw in the head, tightening to the required torque.
4. Establish the right suspension bracket of the power unit.
5. Install the air filter cover.
Lower chain tensioner
Removing
1. Raise the front of the car and secure it on stands.
2. Unscrew the head of the lower chain tensioner.
3. Remove the plunger.
Warning! Do not rotate the engine crankshaft when removing the tensioner.
4. Inspect the tensioner plunger for wear and damage and replace if necessary.
Installation
1. Lubricate the plunger (indicated by an arrow) tensioner with clean engine oil and reinstall it.
2. Install the lower tensioner head with a new O-ring and tighten it to the correct torque. If a new tensioner is being installed, press the pin in the center of the head until it clicks, causing the pin to push in and out easily.
