Removing
1. Remove the bottom shield of the engine compartment.
2. Unscrew the fan with a 32 mm wrench from the coolant pump hub.
Warning! The nut has a left-hand thread, so you need to turn it to the right (clockwise).
3. When unscrewing the nut, press the pump V-belt, thus hooking the hub so that it does not turn. OPEL workshops use a special tool KM-821 (1), which presses the V-belt to the bolt head, the fixture can also be made independently from tin.
4. Once loosened, the nut can be unscrewed further by rotating the fan impeller. When doing this, make sure that the fan impeller does not fall down.
5. Pull the fan down.
Warning! Do not lay the viscous fan in a horizontal position, only place it vertically.
6. If necessary, separate the fan impeller and fan clutch, unscrew the 3 mounting bolts.
Installation
1. Install the viscous coupling in the fan and fasten it with the fastening bolts with a force of 10 N.m.
Warning! In order not to damage the thread of the coupling, do not overtighten the mounting bolts.
2. Screw the fan with the coupling installed to the pump hub with a force of 20 N.m, while holding the hub.
Warning! Do not twist the nut. The nut has a left-hand thread, turn to the left.
3. Establish the bottom guard of an impellent compartment.
