Removal



1. Remove the lower engine compartment shield.

2. Drain the engine oil and re-tighten the drain bolt with a new gasket to 45 Nm.

3. Remove the oil level indicator. Unscrew the bolt (1) of the level indicator pipe from the cylinder head.

4. Remove the pipe upwards from the guides.

5. Remove the cable plug for torque control of the oil level on the oil pan.

6. Unscrew the engine mounts on the right and left of the bracket.

7. Remove the exhaust pipe.

8. Place a cable under the engine and raise the engine 2 cm.

9. If there is no special device for hanging, insert a suitable cable through the engine lugs and connect it to the pipe and place it on the appropriate trestles or on the mounting edges of the wings.

Warning! Do not place the pipe on the fenders. Raise the engine slowly, making sure that the cable or hose is not stretched or compressed. If necessary, remove the wiper linkage and lever system, the viscous fan, and the air boost pipe in advance.


10. Remove the booster pump bracket from the oil pan.

11. Remove the oil pan bolts from the cylinder block.

12. Unscrew the mounting bolts (1) from the gearbox side of the pan, for this you will need a replacement socket head with an extension.

13. Remove the tray.

Installation



1. Clean the oil pan bolt threads with a rotating brush to remove any remaining protective grease.

2. Carefully remove any remaining sealant from the surface of the tray.

4. Cover with sealant, for example OPEL 15 03 166 (90 094 714), front grooves (1 and 2), rear (3 and 4), tracks should be 3 mm wide and 2 mm high.

5. Evenly screw the tray with a new gasket with a force of 10 Nm. Do not tighten the bolts too much so as not to crush the gasket.



6. Connect the torque tester cable plug to the oil pan.

7. Loosen the engine and screw the engine mounts on the right and left with a force of 45 Nm.

8. Install a fan with a viscous coupling, a supercharging pipe, and a system of rods and levers for the wiper.

9. Install the exhaust pipe.

10. Screw the booster pump bracket to the pan.

11. Install the oil level indicator with a new gasket.

12. Screw the bolt for the level indicator tube to the cylinder head.

13. Install the level indicator.

14. Pour in oil.

15. After a test drive, check the oil pan gasket and drain bolt for leaks; if necessary, slightly tighten the oil pan bolts.

16. Screw on the lower engine compartment shield.
