A radiator fan is screwed to the front of the water pump shaft.
Removing
1. Drain the coolant.
2. Screw off viscous fan (left hand thread).
3. Remove the V-belt.
4. Loosen the bolts (1) securing the V-belt pulley. While doing this, press the V-belt and hold it so that the pulley does not spin.
5. Remove the pulley from the hub.
6. Remove 4 bolts (1) cooling pump mounts.
7. Screw in 2 bolts (1) with an M6 thread into the threaded holes and thereby evenly press the water pump out of the engine. When doing this, make sure that the pump is not skewed.
Installation
1. Remove the bolts, replace the coolant pump ring and lubricate by hand with silicone oil, e.g. OPEL 19 70 206 (90 167 353).
2. Install the pump with a new gasket and screw evenly with a force of 10 N.m.
3. Screw the belt pulley with 4 bolts and fasten them with a force of 10 N.m.
4. Install and tension the V-belt.
5. Install the viscous coupling.
6. Fill with coolant and bleed the system.
7. Warm up the engine and check the hose connection and the coolant pump for leaks.
