2. To remove the tie rod, unscrew the nuts and, using the ball joint removal tool, press out the ball pins (photo). If only one tie rod end needs to be replaced, disconnect only the corresponding end.

3. Loosen the clamp bolts and unscrew the tie rod ends, counting the exact number of turns required to remove them.
4. To remove the central steering rod, the lateral steering rods must first be separated at their internal splines as described in point 2.
5. Remove the nuts and disconnect the steering rod from the swingarm and swingarm using the ball joint removal tool (photo).

6. Installation is carried out in the reverse order using new auto-lock nuts. Tighten all nuts and bolts to the specified tightening torque Specification. Finally, check and, if necessary, adjust the front wheel toe-in as described in Chapter 30.
