Set handle to neutral position.
Unscrew and remove the console.
Loosen the bolt securing the clamping collar of the gearshift rod.
Remove the plug from the mounting hole.
Turn the rod to the left until the KM-527 adjusting tool enters the mounting hole all the way. Instead of KM-527, you can take a drill with a diameter of 5 mm.
At the same time, with the help of an assistant, engage 1st or 2nd gear with the rubber casing unscrewed. In this case, the thrust sleeve of the lever fits without a gap to the casing. The middle rib on the housing will mate with the rib on the thrust bush, fig. B2316.
In this position of the rod and the shift lever, tighten the clamp bolt to 12 Nm.
Pull out the KM-527 tool and close the hole. Apply a new plug.
Install rubber cover.
Screw the console.
Attention: All gears must be easily engaged with the engine running and the clutch depressed.
Attention: In vehicles with 1.2L ST engines and 4-speed F10 gearbox (year howl 1983, engines No. 19002605-19006400) improperly selected shift lever locking pins can cause shifting problems (heavy moving) or spontaneous gear shifting. In such cases, replace the 3 locking pins.
