Screw the gearbox housing to the engine block with a torque of 75 Nm. Install the rear engine mount first, then the front engine mount, without tension. Tighten the front and rear engine mounts with a torque of 65 Nm. Lubricate the drive shaft installation site with transmission oil (OPEL ET No.1942382/3293688).
Insert a new snap ring into the groove of the hinge.
Caution: Do not overtighten the new retaining ring.
Install both drive shafts into the gearbox housing.
Secure the ball joint with a crown nut in the right steering knuckle with a force of 70 Nm. If you cannot insert the cotter pin, then tighten the nut longer, do not loosen it. Do not forget the cotter pin under any circumstances.
Screw the left beam to the body with a force of 110 Nm. When installing the long beam, take into account the marks made so that the beam sits in its original place.
In any case, use new bolts. Install the stabilizer. If necessary, replace the rubber bushing.

When installing the stabilizer, maintain dimension A - 38 mm. Use new self-locking nuts.
Install the final drive shaft.
Secure the final drive shaft with a new retaining ring.
Screw the ground cable to the bearing shield.
Connect the wire of the reverse light switch and screw on the speedometer shaft.
Attach the clutch cable to the release lever and insert it into the groove of the retainer.
Check the clutch adjustment.
Adjust gear shifting.
GTE: Install the shock absorbers. To do this, disengage 5th gear, slide the shock absorbers over the conical-head pins and secure them. Before doing this, lubricate the conical-head pins with silicone grease. Finally, screw the shock absorbers to the gearbox cover, tighten the fasteners with a force of 20 Nm. Do not forget the toothed washer.
Please note: The shock absorbers can only be retrofitted to KADETT D with F16/4, 5-speed transmission and an existing threaded blind hole in the cover. In this case, the integrated shift rod must be replaced by a shift rod with a conical pin holder.
Install the wheels, observing the markings on the rim and hub.
Check the transmission oil level.
