Screw gearbox housing to engine block with 75 Nm. Install without stress, first the rear then the front engine mount. Tighten front and rear engine mounts to 65 Nm. Lubricate the drive shaft mounting location with transmission oil (OPEL ET №1942382/3293688).
Insert a new circlip into the hinge groove.
Attention: Do not overtighten the new retaining ring.
Install both drive shafts in the gearbox housing.
Secure ball joint with slotted nut in right steering knuckle with 70 Nm. If it is not possible to insert the cotter pin, then the nut should be tightened longer, do not loosen. In no case do not forget the cotter pin.
Screw the left beam to the body with a force of 110 Nm. When installing a long beam, take into account the marks made so that the beam sits in its original place.
In any case, use new bolts. Install stabilizer. If necessary, replace the rubber bushing.
When installing the stabilizer, keep dimension A - 38 mm. Use new self-locking nuts.
Install the final drive shaft.
Secure the final drive shaft with a new circlip.
Screw the earth cable to the endshield.
Connect the reversing light switch wire and screw on the speedometer shaft.
Connect the clutch cable to the release lever and insert into the groove of the retainer.
Check clutch adjustment.
Adjust gear shift.
GTE: Install dampers. To do this, turn off the 5th gear, push on the shock absorbers but the pins with a conical head and fix them. Prior to this, lubricate the pins with a conical head with silicone grease. Finally, screw the shock absorbers to the gearbox cover, tighten the fasteners to 20 Nm. Don't forget the toothed washer.
Attention: Shock absorbers can only be retrofitted to KADETT D with F16/4-, 5-speed gearbox and existing threaded blind hole in the cover. In such a case, the integrated switching shaft must be replaced by a switching shaft with a finger holder with a conical head.
Install the wheels, observing the markings on the rim and hub.
Check transmission oil level.
