Cylinder head — disassembly (Opel Astra G)

1. On a 1.6L single shaft engine, remove the cylinder head, tappets and thrust washers (see Chapter 2A).

2. On all twin-shaft engines, remove the pushrod camshafts, then remove the cylinder head (Chapter 2B).

3. On all engines, disassemble the valve mechanism (see photo).













4. Remove the valve from the combustion chamber side. The valve should be stored together with the crackers, spring, spring plate and support washer.
