Windscreen wipers
1. Remove both windshield wiper arms (see Removal and installation the wiper arms (leashes)).
2. Remove the rubber seal from the top edge of the engine compartment bulkhead and the plastic grille of the reflector installed under the windshield (see illustrations Layout diagram of the components to be removed, installed along the lower edge of the windshield (astra models) and Layout of elements installed along the lower edge of the windshield (astra models)).
3. Disconnect the hoses from the windshield washer fluid supply nozzles.

4. Where necessary, loosen the fastening nuts and remove the reflector from the bulkhead.

5. Disconnect the wiring from the windshield wiper motor.
6. Unscrew the mounting bolts and the electric motor assembly with the drive rods.

7. If necessary, the electric motor can be removed from the drive mechanism - disconnect the rod from the hinge and unscrew the motor mounting bolts. The remaining rods can also be dismantled if necessary.

8. Clean the drive components and check the condition of the axles and joints. Replace any faulty components.
9. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Before assembly, lubricate the moving parts of the drive mechanism with silicone grease. For a description of the procedure for installing the windshield wiper arms, see. Removal and installation the wiper arms (leashes).
Rear window cleaner (hatchback and Station Wagon/ Zafira models)
1. Remove the windshield wiper arm (see Removal and installation the wiper arms (leashes)).
2. Remove the rear door interior trim panels (see Chapter Body).
3. On astra models remove the door lock cylinder (see Chapter Body).
4. Disconnect the electrical wiring from the drive motor.
5. Unscrew the mounting bolts and remove the motor, releasing its axle housing from the rubber bushing in the outer panel of the door frame.


6. If necessary, remove the rubber bushing from the door panel. A damaged bushing must be replaced.

7. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Make sure that all fasteners are tightened to the required torque. For a description of the wiper arm installation procedure, see. Removal and installation the wiper arms (leashes).
