Caution: When equipping your vehicle with head airbags, strictly follow safety precautions!


1. Disconnect the wires and insulate the battery terminals. Wait at least 1 minute to allow the SRS independent power supply capacitor to discharge completely.

2. Separate the door frame seal from the A-pillar.

On models equipped with head airbags, use a screwdriver to pry off the service cover on the front pillar trim (see accompanying illustration) and carefully separate it by gradually moving the screwdriver along the perimeter of the cover.

3. Insert a plastic wedge under the A-pillar trim, press the clips and remove the trim from the pillar by pulling it upwards.

4. Install in the reverse order of removal, making sure that the inner edge of the seal is on top of the trim. Check the condition of the clamps, replace if necessary.

5. Separate the front end edge of the inner sill trim from the body (see Section 42).

6. Remove 2 screws (see accompanying illustration), remove the lower A-pillar trim and remove it from the footwell.

7. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, making sure that the inner edge of the seal is on top of the trim.
