High voltages and high temperatures are dangerous for electronic components. So that you do not destroy by mistake due to inattention (Expensive) switchgear or control device, the following points must be observed:
Always switch off the ignition before disconnecting the connector in the vehicle electronics area. Even better is to disconnect the battery. Because when the plug contact is disconnected, voltage peaks can occur that are not beneficial for sensitive electronic devices located nearby.
If electric welding is performed on the Vectra, then, firstly, the battery is disconnected and, secondly, all plug connectors of all electronic control units are disconnected
If, after body repair, the car enters the varnish drying chamber, the temperature there can reach 95°C for a short time. Longer time (maximum 2 hours) must not exceed 85°C. The engine can only be started when the vehicle has cooled down to normal temperature.
