Replacing the crankshaft sealing rings (Opel Vectra B)

1. Remove the crankshaft pulley.

2. Drill two small holes in the sealing ring, located at diametrically opposite ends of the sealing ring.

3. Screw two self-tapping screws into the drilled holes of the sealing ring and, using pliers, pull the sealing ring out by the screw heads.

4. Clean the sealing ring seat.

5. Lubricate the working lips of the new sealing ring with clean engine oil and install it on the crankshaft.

6. Remove all traces of engine oil and install the crankshaft pulley.

1. Remove the flywheel. Measure the depth of the sealing ring in the seat.

2. Drill two small holes in the sealing ring, located at diametrically opposite ends of the sealing ring. Screw two self-tapping screws into the drilled holes of the sealing ring and, using pliers, pull the sealing ring out by the screw heads.



3. Clean the sealing ring seat.

4. Lubricate the lips of the new sealing ring with clean engine oil and install it in place.

5. Remove all traces of engine oil and install the flywheel.
