Removing
1. Remove the earth wire from the battery in the luggage compartment. Unscrew the spare wheel holder.
2. Raise the front of the car and secure it on stands.
3. Drain the engine oil. Install a new washer on the drain plug and screw it into place.
4. Remove the front exhaust pipe.
5. Disconnect the electrical connector from the oil level sensor on the oil pan.
Models without air conditioning (stamped steel oil pan)
6. Unscrew the bolts and remove the lower flywheel protective plate.
7. Gradually unscrew the oil pan mounting bolts. Remove the pallet from the engine and take it from under the car. Remove the oil pan gasket.
8. Remove and clean the oil pickup strainer.
Models with air conditioning (cast oil pan)
9. Unscrew the bolts securing the oil pan protrusion to the gearbox housing.
10. Remove the rubber plugs blocking access to the oil pan mounting bolts, unscrew the bolts and remove the oil pan.
Installation
Places for applying sealant to the lower part of the engine block
Models with stamped steel pan
1. Remove all traces of dirt and oil from the mating surfaces of the oil pan and cylinder block.
2. If necessary, install a new O-ring on top of the oil pickup tube and install the oil pickup. Before installing the oil receiver mounting bolts, apply an anti-loose agent to the bolt threads.
3. Fit a new gasket to the oil pan and install the oil pan to the cylinder block and bolt on. Tighten the pallet mounting bolts from the center in a diagonal sequence.
4. Install flywheel skid plate to gearbox housing and secure with bolts.
5. Install the front exhaust pipe and connect the electrical connector to the oil level sensor in the oil pan.
6. Lower the car and fill the engine with fresh oil.
Cast Oil Pan Models
7. Remove all traces of dirt and oil from the mating surfaces of the oil pan and cylinder block.
8. Apply a thin coat of sealant to the mating surfaces of the cylinder block and rear main bearing cap.
9. Install a new gasket on the oil pan, and apply an anti-loose agent to the threads of the oil pan mounting bolts.
10. Install the oil pan and secure with bolts. Tighten the bolts from the center in a diagonal sequence.
11. Screw in bolts of fastening of a protrusion of the oil pallet to a case of a transmission.
12. Install the front exhaust pipe and connect the electrical connector to the oil level sensor.
13. Lower the car and fill the engine with fresh oil.
