Cylinder head cover — removal and installation (Opel Vectra B)

Removal

1. Loosen the clamps and disconnect the crankcase ventilation hose from the rear of the head cover.



2. Unscrew the head cover mounting bolts and remove them together with the washers. Remove the cylinder head cover. Remove the semicircular rubber plug from the left front side of the cylinder head.

3. Check the condition of the head gasket and the cylinder head plug.

Installation

1. Check that the mating surfaces of the head cover and cylinder head are clean and dry. Install the gasket in the groove of the cylinder head cover.

2. Apply a thin layer of sealant to the socket where the half-round plug is installed and install the plug.

3. Install the head cover onto the cylinder head, install gaskets under the bolts and secure the cover with bolts, tightening them to the required torque.

4. Connect the crankcase ventilation hose and secure it with a clamp.
