Front door trim — removal and installation (Opel Vectra B)

Removal

1. Remove the ground cable from the battery.



2. Open the front door and pull the outside mirror adjustment handle towards you.



3. Then, using the blade of a screwdriver as a lever, remove the decorative trim from the mirror handle.



4. Remove the sound insulation.





5. Using a screwdriver blade as a lever, remove the lower trim panel of the inner door handle.



6. Also using a screwdriver, remove the plug or switch for the heated mirror from the top of the door handle.



7. Using a screwdriver, remove the speaker grille.



8. Unscrew the screws securing the door handle.





9. Remove the door handle.



10. Disconnect the wires from the speaker.

11. On manual window models, close the window completely and mark the position of the window handle. Release the retaining clip and remove the handle. The clip is released by inserting a clean cloth between the handle and the door trim and, pulling the cloth opposite the ends of the clip, hook the clip and release it. In this case, it is necessary to pull the handle towards you so that after releasing the clip, it comes off the splines of the window regulator.



12. Remove the screws at the base of the door trim.





13. Then, using a wide-blade screwdriver, pry the door trim away from the door.



14. If necessary, remove the protective film from the door.

Installation

Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
