Removal and installation the front door trim (Opel Astra J)

You will need: flat-head and Phillips-head screwdrivers.

1. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.

2. Using a screwdriver, pry off the plug..

4. …and unscrew the upper screw securing the trim.

5. Remove the screw securing the window lift control unit to the armrest…

6. …remove the unit from the socket in the armrest…

7. …press the wiring harness connector lock…

8. …disconnect the wiring harness connector from it and remove the unit.

9. Using a screwdriver, pry up the edge of the armrest trim…

10. …remove the lining, overcoming the elastic resistance of its holders.

11. Through the holes in the armrest, turn out the middle…

12. …and the lower upholstery mounting screws.

13. Using a screwdriver, pry up the rear lower edge of the upholstery…

14. … detach the trim from the door, overcoming the resistance of the holders.

15. Disengage the rear upper door trim retainer from engagement with the door trim…

16. …and detach the cover.

17. Remove the trim from the door, overcoming the resistance of its holders.

18. Use a screwdriver to pry up the lock cable sheath tip retainer…

21. Press the locking button on the wiring harness connector of the outside mirror control joystick…

22. …disconnect the connector from the joystick and remove the door trim.

23. Install the front door trim in the reverse order of removal.
